For Live Noise (Decibel) Meter and Vote by Cheer products the following list of hardware is required:

• Computer (laptop, desktop, rack) for Uplause software install and setup
• A microphone (condenser) to pick up crowd noise as sound input (NOTE: Several venues have microphones in use that can be utilised)
• Audio interface (like Scarlett 2i2) to convert audio signal
• XLR cable(s) for microphone connection
• HDMI (or SDI) cable for video output from computer
• Sound Pressure Level Meter (handheld) for calibration on-site

Decibels serve as the universal yardstick for measuring sound intensity, capturing the vast range of audible sounds that the human ear can detect. From the whisper-quiet rustle of leaves to the roaring blast of a jet engine, this logarithmic scale provides a nuanced way to understand sound levels.

Decibels (abbreviated dB) are the units used to measure the relative intensity of a sound. 

The human ear can hear everything from your fingertip brushing lightly over your skin to a loud jet engine. In terms of power, the sound of the jet engine is about 1,000,000,000,000 times more powerful than the smallest audible sound. That's a big difference!

On the decibel scale, the smallest audible sound (near total silence) is 0 dB. It's a logarithmic scale, so a sound 10 times more powerful is 10 dB. A sound 100 times more powerful than near total silence is 20 dB. A sound 1,000 times more powerful than near total silence is 30 dB.

You know from your own experience that distance affects the intensity of sound — if you are far away, the power is greatly diminished. All of the ratings above are taken while standing near the sound.

A person with "normal hearing" should be able to detect sounds around 10 dB, while someone with moderate hearing loss may not be able to hear decibel levels lower than 50.

We do provide an opportunity to try to solution and make sure it works in your venue and environment. Using it at live event for spectators requires a commercial license. 

Usually we don´t need to send anyone to your office or venue for training and on-boarding. The system is easy to learn and we have became pretty good in training via online tools. There is plenty of materials available and in our experience the customers learn really fast. And we are here to help (almost 24/7) if there is a need for any assistance.

Sports events have became big part of our client list, however Uplause has been in use in music concerts and festivals, business conferences and smaller private events. There are no minimums or maximums for audience size. One requirement there is though - a videoboard or digital signage for audience to follow the experience from a screen.

Uplause system is basically a software program that requires a license to access it and use it. We price the license based on profile of your event and use of software. Sports clubs normally purchase a season license, tournaments purchase a license for the duration of the event (weekend, week, etc.)

Uplause also provides content production for our customers if there is a need for customised content. Our studio has experience in working with biggest brands and properties within sports and entertainment - and they are at your disposal! For this work we charge a content production fee that is normally charged on hourly basis at given rate.
